Italy gets its first game development conference

Two day event takes place in November as part of Italian Videogame Festival

Italian games developers are to get their first dedicated conference later this year.

The Italian Videogame Developers Conference starts in Milan as a part of Ludic@rena, the Italian Videogame Festival, and runs on November 21st and 22nd.

Wolfgang Marzin, CEO of the Leipziger Messe and organizer of the Leipzig Games Convention,  will open the event with a talk about 'the outstanding growth of the gaming industry'.

During the second day, the event will be split into three sessions: the first looks at independent developers, the second will look at professional games development in Italy, while the third will feature a roundtable debate about the state of Italian game development.

A number of local studios have already signed up to attend or speak at the event, including: Milestone, Artematica, Ubisoft Milan, Twelve, Black Sheep Studios, SpinVector, Virtual Identity and Raylight.
