Las Vegas-based developer thinks middleware will 'push production dates backwards for the first time'
HSC Labs, a development studio based in Las Vegas, Nevada, has chosen Simultronics' HeroEngine MMO middleware for the development of its upcoming online game.
“I believe that middleware software is the future of gaming, and that Simutronics is currently the leader in this industry," said HSC Labs Director, Daniel de la Cruz. "I also believe that the efficiency and dependability offered by Simutronics is going to push production dates backwards for the first time"
David Whatley, founder and CEO of Simutronics, added: “HSC Labs is another example of why HeroEngine is rapidly becoming the number one choice for MMO development. Developers are looking for ways to build their games better and faster and that is why we built HeroEngine.”
"Simutronics is going to push production dates backwards for the first time."
Well I wouldn't want middleware that would push the schedule back, I'd want a solution that brought production completion forward. Sounds like HSC don't know whether they're coming or going. Some endorsement!
Well if you go forwards in time you end up at a later date, and backwards in time at an earlier date. So pushing a production date back sounds just fine.
When you push something it gets further away, when you pull something it gets closer to you.
Personally I'd go with common usage and people normally speak of dates being pushed back to mean they get further away. When a deadline is brought forward the date gets earlier.
Now if you want to persuade 1 billion speakers of English that they should march in step with you rather than the band be my guest. I still say HSC sound like they don't know whether they're coming or going
