Several games to be spun out of Orson Scott Card's sci-fi saga
Undertow developer Chair Entertainment has secured the exclusive rights to make games based on the Ender's Game series of books by Orson Scott Card.
Talking to Reuters, Card said he'd chosen to licence his series out to a developer after fruitless years trying to turn the books into movies - in time he hopes to make a number of Ender's Game video games.
"There is going to be a universe of Ender's Game games, hopefully. But that's like someone starting a restaurant and thinking about opening 100 franchises all over the country," he said. "Let's make this one work first."
Chair said it will make the Ender's titles for Xbox Live Arcade - the firm released Undertow for the service last year. Its games will be inspired by the Battle Room in the game - an arena which simulates battles between space ships.
Studio founders Donald and Geremy Mustard had previously worked with Card on Advent Rising, a title he wrote the story and dialogue for and which was published by Majesco.
