Our client is an independent creative agency with 15+ offices and award winning results worldwide. They're a dynamic organisation, evolving in response to the changing needs of clients. 

They're creating a technology team as a cross-company team. You will be key in scoping, designing/architecting and documenting VR software. The role of the Technical Lead will have you working alongside the tech team's Project Director and Art Director to firstly manage external developers while helping to build a team of internal Software Engineers for internal projects.

Detailed responsibilities:

  • You will work with each Account Director of the relevant business channel you work on to own and ensure stability and growth
  • Responsible for keeping up to date on the latest developments in the AR/VR field and making everyone aware on the team
  • Responsible for costing, scoping, designing and planning software and hardware for all AR/VR experiences
  • Responsible for being a key stakeholder in the UK VR Forum which Imagination actively participate in.
  • Responsible for all R&D efforts in the AR/VR field. Setting up and running R&D initiative which will eventually make their way into pitches.
  • Report production status to the Project Manager on a regular basis
  • Ensure coding and documentation standards are met and the deployment pipeline is used continuously through development and always on deployment
  • Work with project management staff to ensure they are informed of development progress
  • Liaise with QA, feed testing status/results back into dev production

Key Skills:

  • Excellent Knowledge of C++ and C#
  • Experienced in managing software engineers of all levels
  • Good knowledge of 3D programming and optimisation techniques
  • At least 7 years in a senior software engineering position and 5 successful development cycles from start to finish
  • Unity and Unreal engine knowledge and experience
  • Previously delivered/released VR products
