Senior Technical Artist - Manchester

Virtual reality is popping up everywhere lately; sales, training, even medical - but what you're most excited about is video games, right? This is a rare opportunity for you to sink your teeth into this emerging technology early on and lead the way for the games industry going forward.

As a Senior Technical Artist, you'll collaborate with the wider team to ensure that agreed visual direction can be delivered within technical constraints. You'll analyze and help correct art asset inefficiencies, create efficient technical specifications and budgets for all art assets, and improve and refine shader, texture and lighting quality. 

You'll be joining one of the major players in the games industry. Based in the cultural melting pot that is Manchester, the work you produce will be join this studio's legacy of countless AAA games and industry-topping hardware. Do you have the skills I'm looking for?

  • Shipped at least two successful games in a senior technical art role, preferably on console;
  • Proficient in EU4; 
  • Experience with analysing and profiling in-game content and providing reports and action points for improving memory and performance.

Icing on the cake

  • Knowledge of the Maya API and programming in C++ or C#
  • Experience writing specifications for and reviewing deliverable from outsourcing companies and/or external contractors;
  • In-depth knowledge of Maya and Python/Mel scripting.
