Lead Game Programmer - Brighton

Are you a Game Programmer with experience leading teams to create fantastic games? If so, then you could join this studio that prides itself on the company culture and work environment it's cultivated!

Wish Studios is looking for an outstanding Game Programmer to help bring their new titles to life. You'll be working alongside talented and friendly colleagues in the centre of Brighton, developing the ground-breaking games that Wish is known for. With a great work-life balance, a friendly, honest and open culture, and as part of a team full of passion and creativity, you'll have everything you need to move your career forwards and enjoy your life at the same time.

You'll take the role of a leader who can inspire the game programming team and other disciplines, and lead through example rather than cracking the whip. You'll spend time in leads meetings, planning the game features with the rest of the game leads team, and will still have time to get your hands dirty making game code and content. You also need to develop and nurture your staff, and accurately and concisely report progress, issues and risks to upper management.

You'll spend time communicating diplomatically with the company's clients, code outsourcing partners, platform technology groups where necessary, and middleware providers as required to make the game work. You will form part of the code leadership group alongside the Technology department lead, other game team leads and the CTO, helping form standards and common process, and contributing to risk management, high level planning on the codebase and code team structures. You'll need to ensure that your team's game code is clean, functional, well structured, well documented and performant.

Do you have the skills we're looking for?

  • You have spent years shipping great games on console or PC;
  • You've previously led a team successfully developing and releasing high quality games within set timescales;
  • You have an excellent technical understanding of C++ and C#.

If you're keen on finding out a little more before applying, I'm always here for a chat! Otherwise, if you think you have what it takes, hit APPLY NOW. :)
