Lead Gameplay Programmer (Next Gen Game Dev) – Excellent Salary and Benefits. Fancy working with one of the UK’s most vibrant and exciting Video Game Developers. This studio currently has an opening for a Lead Gameplay Programmer within the Programming Department. The Lead Gameplay programmer heads up a small team of experienced programmers who focus on delivering great gameplay and game structure. The ideal candidate is expected to have proven leadership experience within a similar role, be an exceptionally creative problem solver, an excellent team-worker and communicator, a positive team leader and always shows high levels of enthusiasm and a talent for creating games. The Lead Gameplay Programmer role involves managing a team and requires outstanding technical knowledge of the software development process for prototyping, developing, and debugging of release quality gameplay code. This role will report to the studio Technical Director. Role Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, Experience) Key Attributes • At least 7 years C++ experience in the games industry • At least 5 shipped console titles • Positive and outgoing personality • Experience in a Lead Gameplay Programmer role • Experience of prototyping & implementing game mechanics • Experience of delivering fun, high-quality core gameplay code • Good knowledge of modern game engines and graphical techniques • Good technical architecture and implementation skills • Expertise in delivering TRC compliant code • Experience of scheduling programming teams • Experience on all current generation consoles • Excellent organisational abilities • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • A passion for games Role Requirements - Major Pluses • Experience delivering high-quality overall game structure and progression systems • Experience working with accelerometer and gyroscope based input devices • Experience working with multi-screen platforms (such as WiiU) • Experience designing and developing AI systems • Experience of tackling HCI problems For further information or to apply to this role please contact Lee Burns on 0044 1925 839 722 or email me on lee.burns@amiqus.com
