My client currently handles the European localisation for one the most successful and lucrative video game-based franchises in the world. Their product range and portfolio includes anime, trading cards, toys, games, books and other media. They are looking for an In-House Translator to work on Japanese to French translations.

This role requires a native speaker of French, who can translate from Japanese into their native language (French) whilst possessing at least two years’ previous translation experience.

Job Description
You will have to translate everything necessary for the localisation of computer games, including in-game text, manuals and packaging, etc. You need to have a high attention to detail and be to be very precise, pay attention to details, and be willing to work over a long period of time on one project. You will be flexible enough to adjust to sudden change of the schedule, unpredictable extra tasks and various restrictions on the text.

Skills required:
- Fluency in French
- Degree in Japanese language/translation
- Computer literate, PC, especially Excel
- Good Communication skills in both languages (JAP/FRE) & English
- Ability to work as a team

It is very important that, apart from being native French with a high level of Japanese, this person has also a keen interest in the French language, (for example, an interest in literature).
Previous videogame localisation experience is a plus, but not a must.
