My client is looking for a Games User Researcher to join their team for a contract running at least to end of June 2014
Plan and conduct user research activities for new entertainment products and established video game franchises. The candidate will work closely with senior researchers to understand the product goals and strategies, and develop and execute research activities that will impact product design and quality. The candidate will be responsible for gathering and interpreting data from lab studies, surveys, and other research methodologies and translating results into actionable recommendations.
Candidates should have advanced degrees in experimental psychology (experimental, social, cognitive, etc.), human computer interaction, human factors, or equivalent industry experience. Experience in the game development, consumer, or entertainment software industry is highly desirable but not required.
Candidates must be knowledgeable in research design, fluent in a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methodologies and be able to quickly and effectively analyse and present data to influence product design and implementation. These methodologies may include discount and RITE usability studies, field studies, questionnaire development and survey research, usage log analysis, and competitive benchmarking. The candidate should have excellent written and oral communication skills, persuasiveness, and the ability to make group presentations. Candidates should have general knowledge of and interest in a wide range of digital entertainment products and video games. Insight into game design principles is also highly desirable.
