Requiring an experienced games programmer to join a small company developing an ambitious AI middleware product. The candidate should be able to fill a number of skill gaps in our small team. The role will focus on the integration of the product with commercial game engines, as well as development of animation-related features and support of clients with the use of our middleware in their games and simulations. Candidates must have experience in the games industry and be willing to relocate to Edinburgh, UK.


The role will include the development and maintenance of:

- Integrations of the product with CryEngine and other commercial engines

- Animation-related features in all versions of our product

- Core features and the API for product

- AI and gamecode customisation for all clients

And also includes support of both games and “serious games” clients


Location: Edinburgh, UK

Salary: Up to £40k + assistance towards relocation costs


Skills, qualifications and experience:

- Bachelors-level qualification or above including courses in artificial intelligence

- Excellent written and spoken English language skills

- Experience in a lead role

- 5 years professional experience in C++

- 2 years development experience using CryEngine at a AAA games studio

- 2 years experience in “serious games” industry (training, simulation and visualisation rather than games)

- 2 years professional experience with each of C#, Lua, Python and JavaScript

- Experience in the development of a AAA title, closely involved with AI

- Experience as a specialist in animation programming (in particular human character animation, IK systems, the use of parametric blending, close-combat animations and integration of animation, gameplay and AI code)

- Experience integrating third party libraries into existing game engines

- Credited on at least one shipped AAA title

- Experience at a Crytek studio would be a strong advantage
