2D Game Artist
An exciting contract opportunity with a start up studio based near Brighton. This studio was set up by two former Black Rock employees and is on the way to becoming another in a long line of successful Brighton start-ups.
They are looking for a 2D Game Artist to join their team based in Brighton.
You will be responsible for:
. Concepting different art styles for our game and app projects.
. Producing high quality 2D assets for all aspects of our games, in a variety of formats. This includes characters, worlds, effects, user interface, and iconography.
. Working within design, style and technical requirements to ensure games are high quality, highly usable and fulfil client needs.
. Contributing to team design discussions, bringing new ideas and enhancing others?.
. Working with project leads and clients to ensure artistic goals are realistic and achievable.
. Providing assistance with studio art tasks such as marketing materials, presentations and managing art source material.
. Extensive working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, with emphasis on Photoshop and Illustrator.
. Confident artistic ability, with a strong portfolio displaying a broad range and unique personal style.
. Demonstrable experience producing art assets for games and user interfaces.
. Ability to use, build and improve art pipelines, taking assets from source into the game efficiently.
. Previous experience filling an artistic role within a development team.
. Strong time-management skills, able to meet deadlines both with and without pressure.
. A passion for games and interactive media.
Optional Skills and Experience
. Experience using the Unity engine and tools.
. Experience creating assets for mobile devices, handling multiple target resolutions and hardware specifications.
. 3D modelling and texturing skills using Maya/3DS Max.
. Shader programming.
. Skills in 2D or 3D animation.
The position will initially be for a 6 month freelance contract with a view to extension.
