The Dare to be Digital 2014 team talks to Develop about working on their entry title Sunny Rainy Snowy

What's your game?
The name of our game is Sunny Rainy Snowy. It is a special type of tower defence game. Target age group is 6+.

The screen is divided into three parts equally. And each part could have its own weather independently. The aim of game is protecting the middle object from being destroyed by the monsters. When the monsters come close to the tree, they will absorb the colour of it. If the tree turns into black and white before you finish the game, then unluckily you lose the game.

Each of the three parts can switch the weather independently. There are three kinds of weather totally, including sunny, rainy and snowy. Players can switch the weather by sliding up or down. In the game, you can control the weather freely by sliding your finger on the screen.

The monsters have their shortcoming to be hurt by the weather. For example, the frogs and fishes can be damaged by the sunny one. Similarly, the snakes can be damaged by the snowy one, the rabbits and chickens can be damaged by the rainy one.

What has the Dare experience been like?
It’s been a very exciting experience. We have learned a lot from the other teams which come from all over the world and we are very happy to make friends with them. And their game ideas are really good.

What have you learned from Dare?
We have learned a lot about the game design. The mentoring has helped us a lot during the development of our game. We have a deeper understanding of game production and teamwork.

Are you looking forward to ProtoPlay?
We want to make our game played by more people. In fact, we want more feedback for our game, and to make our game better and better.

What are your ambitions after Dare?
We want to perfect our game, and our team may fund a studio to make games for business.
