Channel 4, Pinewood, Sony, Bossa Studios, Unity and more discuss the future of virtual reality
A dedicated event later this month will dissect virtual reality and its potential for the future of video games. The SouthWest VR conference will run a dual-track day full of insightful talks by leading experts in the new field of virtual reality games design.
The event will also touch on how virtual reality devices such as Oculus Rift and Sony's Project Morpheus will change the way consumers interact with film, TV and other forms of entertainment.
Speakers include representatives from Sony, Oculus, Bossa Studios, Alchemy VR, nDreams, Yogscast, Channel 4, Pinewood Studios, Unity Technologies and The Imaginarium.
SouthWest VR, organised by VR developer Opposable Games, will be held at the At-Bristol Science Centre in Bristol on February 24. SouthWest VR, which is to be hosted by renowned games journalist Will Freeman, is supported by Invest Bristol & Bath, Creative Skillset, the Digital Cultures Research Centre, Webstart Bristol, the Centre for Digital Entertainment, the BMT Group and Unity 3D.
SouthWest VR will be fundraising for UK charity GamesAid, which will be running a GamesAid Tenner collection. Attendees are asked to bring £10 with them to donate to GamesAid.
