Monday, 16th November - Friday, 11th December, 2009 - A four week full-time course for aspiring programmers and game artists in the West Midlands area.
Gamer Camp offers would-be game makers in the West Midlands the chance to learn how to develop and produce games for Apple's phenomenally popular iPhone/iPod Touch, as part of a four-week training course taking place at NTI Birmingham and Birmingham School of Visual Communication.
The course is split between 1 week of intense accelerated learning and a 3 week mentoring period in which participants form teams to produce their own iPhone game. This mentoring period will also include a series of evening masterclasses on a range of games industry topics. Games produced from this process will then be judged by an industry panel before they become free to download via the iPhone App Store (subject to approval by Apple).
Providing participants with a complete view of the game development process, Gamer Camp offers two routes for applicants; Programming and Games Artist.
The course will be lead by Guy Wilday, former Studio Director at SEGA Racing Studio (Sega Rally) and Head of Studio at Codemasters (Colin McRae Rally series).
