Creative services outfit The Design Works aims to deliver exceptional results for its customers by consistently realising their visions.
Founded in 2009 by web and graphic designers Phil Bradley and Craig Bennett, the Doncaster design agency provides an extensive range of services for games makers.
“Our experience and huge breadth of services is what differentiates us from other companies in our field,” director Bradley tells Develop. “We are able to deliver a dependable outcome for virtually any requirement you might have in either print or online.”
From packaging artwork, website design and poster creations to event materials (such as banners, signs, exhibition stands), manuals (design and localisation), and product photography, The Design Works is ready to handle the full gamut of the market’s needs.
The firm’s processes are guided entirely by the project brief. Bradley says they do not work to a rigid formula, which, in his opinion, restricts the creativity required for projects in the industry. It works directly with the client to get a “razor sharp picture” of what they want to achieve.
“Our strengths are our flexibility and ability to adapt to each project as a unique challenge,” he says. “Our involvement in the project can vary from client to client. For example, we have contributed to projects where we worked on every single aspect of it, from concept drawings and 3D modelling to the finished hardware. We can be as involved as the client wants us to be.”
One of its most high-profile projects to date is working on the Neo Geo X arcade console. It generated the initial concept design, the 3D modelling for the finished product, packaging, manual design and localisation in five languages, the product website, special edition materials and packaging and more.
“We were responsible for every single pixel and pen stroke relating to that project. The overall result was over £5m in revenue globally and it continues to be a huge source of revenue for the client,” says Bradley.
A strong point of sale display can make all the difference. Bradley says that The Design Works’ clients benefit from its experience and it continues to grow its reputation.
“Our combined 30 years of experience has given us the expertise to deliver what you need to an impeccable standard in a short period of time, leaving you time to focus on the quality of your product,” he says. “Our experience enables us to take your vision and turn it into something presentable, regardless of how conceptual or vivid your brief.”
