Develop takes a look at the California based music agency
OmniMedia Music is a boutique talent agency representing composers in interactive entertainment.
It provides studios with suitable members of its agency to take on the tasks required, and then works closely with developers to provide creative guidance, live recording co-ordination and other services to meet the needs of its clients.
OmniMedia recently became the exclusive agent for the William Morris Endeavor composer roster in the video game industry, which provides composers for any type of studio, whether a small mobile game or a triple-A developer.
Executive director Adam Levenson says: “I am proud to say that OmniMedia music has achieved every goal established at the start-up stage of the company.
"I am especially thrilled to be in partnership with William Morris Endeavor, representing an unbelievable line-up of composers that I admire and respect.”
He says that OmniMedia “has recently placed composers on major console games covered by non-disclosure agreements, and there’s several more exciting deals in the making.”
Levenson, who has more than 18 years of experience in video game audio production having contributed to dozens of games as an audio director, music producer and music director, says the agency is well placed for changes in the industry.
“The introduction of popular new platforms in the casual market combined with challenging economic conditions has significantly impacted the traditional console and PC game business,” he says.
“I draw confidence from knowing interactive entertainment is here to stay, and that original music is a key element in presenting an immersive game experience.”
In future he says Omni’s goal is “to deliver superb options to game makers by presenting great talent, creative and workable budget options, and fair contract negotiations”.
