Combining linguistic and technical expertise with a passion for games, CultureTranslate’s in-house teams are dedicated to delivering quality gaming experiences with a local homegrown feel.

The company provides flexible solutions to keep things as simple as possible for partners, adapting solutions and streamlining processes in order to help clients reach their goals.

GAMEBENCH

Founded in 2013, GameBench is a UK startup founded by two ex-employees from semiconductor and software design company, ARM.

GameBench has created the world’s first on-device Android performance analysis tool for game developers, which is non- invasive, requiring no source code changes.

GameBench’s apps work on non-rooted devices and quickly help developers to understand bottlenecks, while also quickly rating a game for performance and battery consumption, ultimately assisting game developers to understand when they are ready for market.

Having added GPU utilisation into the tool by working with several GPU vendors, GameBench’s vision is to provide one tool for Android that game developers can use to quickly profile a game on any device.

Currently in beta, the app is already being trialled by game developers across the world.

KEYWORDS

UK video game services company Keywords International has made major strides towards becoming the leading global player in the last 12 months.

Floating on the London AIM last year, the Dublin-based company has made some high profile acquisitions in the first quarter of 2014, including the outsourcing services provider Babel Media for £5.3m and voice production services company Liquid Violet for up to £1.6m.

Both acquisitions are in line with Keywords’ strategy of growth to offer a single testing, localisation and voice production services solution, while extending the company's client base, market penetration and service lines. And there’s the promise of more acquisitions in the months to come too.

Now with operations in Dublin, Montreal, Rome, Seattle, Tokyo, New Delhi and Singapore, Keywords International is a force to be reckoned with.

LOCALIZE DIRECT

Localize Direct’s LocDirect is a framework for quickly implementing a top-quality localisation pipeline. Over the last year, the company has been busy, streamlining the localisation management process for publishers including Warner Bros, Koch Media and 505 Games.

In addition to this, Localize Direct has also recently launched an open beta for a browser based system. Focused on small and micro developers, AddLingo is already popular and key improvements and additional functionality is planned for release over the next few months.

Delivering text from experienced game translators through its localisation tools, Localize Direct’s services have been used by UK-based studios Rebellion, Ripstone, Marmalade, nDreams, Born Ready and Firefly, on projects as diverse as Sniper Elite V3, Payday2, Dead Island: Epidemic and Max and the Magic Marker 2.

The company has worked to tailor its services to client requirements, regardless of platform or team size, ensuring studios with every type of budget can release stable applications.

In the past 18 months, Testology has worked with over 100 mobile applications, as well as numerous games across all platforms, including Crytek’s Ryse, Media Molecule’s Tearaway, Fireproof Studio’s The Room, Mid Candy’s Hutch Games and 22 Cans’ Curiosity.

Offering a high level of quality and experience, Testology has considerably expanded its business in recent years, motivated to evolve with the industry and match the requirements of developing platforms.

Diversifying into the mobile, digital, free-to-play and social gaming markets, the company’s testing revenue grew year-on- year by 71 per cent and 191 per cent over the past two years.

Universally Speaking is the longest running, UK based localisation and QA solutions provider working within the interactive entertainment industry, with a decade of experience.

Universally Speaking’s client list boasts companies such as Amazon, EA, Square Enix, Capcom and Supercell among others and the company has worked on some of the most successful titles of all time, including Pro Evolution Soccer, SimCity, Angry Birds, Minecraft, Clash of Clans and Hay Day, as well as games by smaller, independent developers.

With standardised processes developed over the last ten years to ensure quality in everything the company does, Universally Speaking is highly regarded by its clients and the industry at large. The company has used that high standing to promote the GamesAid charity and strongly support the UK game industry tax break move.

VMC

In the past 12 months, VMC has continued its 15 year tradition of providing QA testing including functionality, compliance, and compatibility, alongside fully integrated end-to-end localisation services for games, all to the highest possible quality.

VMC partners with game developers to ensure that their communities get the best possible player experience on the best quality games, something it has supported with the release of the innovative Global Beta Test Network (GBTN).

GBTN is a private community of thousands of beta testers, enables VMC to perform a range of testing on titles in a live-play situation, including stress, usability, connection, match-making, and client-customised performance checks. It’s designed to eradicate the industry’s recent high profile launch failures, which are the result of insufficient testing.

Another example of VMC’s dedication to quality QA testing, GBTN has been employed by three of the top six publishers for triple-A titles.
